2020 Kia Niro Gets New Features and Tech Updates
The Kia Niro is offered as a hybrid vehicle or an electric vehicle. That makes this small SUV fuel efficient. On the outside, the 2020 Kia Niro is getting a few updates including a redesigned front fascia including a diamond-pattern grille, chevron-shaped LED lights, projector headlights and fog lamps, and a new wheel design. There were also some safety features added to this vehicle like automatic high beam control and adaptive cruise control.
The more significant changes to this vehicle come on the interior with some great new technology features. Standard on the 2020 Kia Niro is an 8-inch touchscreen, which is an upgrade from the old standard of a 7-inch. This vehicle also has a UVO multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There will also be a new 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation system that is available on this vehicle. You also have an upgraded driver information screen and new ambient lighting on the inside of this vehicle.
Other newly added options include paddles shifters that double as controls for the active regenerative braking, an electronic parking brake, and mood lighting in six colors. The available driver assistance technology expands by adding lane following, lane keep assist, and high beam assist.
Under the hood, things have not changed for the 2020 Kia Niro. You still have a 1.6-liter engine and a 1.56-kilowatt-hour battery to give you 139 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. The 2020 Kia Niro Hybrid earns EPA ratings of 52 MPG city, 49 MPG highway, 50 MPG combined.
According to Roadshow, “Following its debut at the LA Auto Show, the 2020 Niro will go on sale early next year. Pricing information hasn’t been released as of this writing, but given how largely similar the 2020 Niro is to the 2019 model, we don’t expect its MSRP to increase all that much.”
