Kia Announces 2023 Sorento HEV & PHEV
Kia just announced two all-new models: the 2023 Kia Sorento HEV and 2023 Kia Sorento PHEV. With a powerful turbocharged hybrid powertrain, available all-wheel drive, and an estimated 655 miles of electric range on a single tank, the Sorento Hybrid is ready to help you write your next adventure!
2023 Sorento HEV
Optimized for the 2023 model year, the Sorento HEV will feature two repackaged trim levels. The S trim will be discontinued, but a new prestige trim is being introduced. The all-new range-topping SX-P trim comes standard with Kia’s AWD system with center locking differential and Drive Mode Select with Snow Mode. Other standard features on the SX-P include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED foglamps, Smart Power Tailgate, 12.3-inch digital cluster, perforated leather seats, Bose premium audio system, Navigation Smart Cruise Control- Curve, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Surround View Monitor, Blind Spot View Monitor, Parking Distance Warning – Front and Rear, and Second Row Captain’s Chairs.
Meanwhile, the EX remains in the trim lineup and gains an 8-way power front passenger seat and a frameless rear view mirror. The EX FWD starts at just $36,590, excluding the destination charge.
2023 Sorento PHEV
The 2023 PHEV model will be streamlined to one range-topping SX-P trim. It will remain fully equipped with an upscale interior, technology, standard AWD, and an expansive suite of standard Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Highway Driving Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance technology. And it will gain other creature comforts such as retractable rear door sunshades, a 115-volt inverter that can charge household items such as a laptop, and standard Homelink.
With 32 miles of all-electric range, the Sorento PHEV can fully charge its battery in about 3.5 hours when utilizing a Level-2 charger. It also continues to offer the most passenger room and second-row legroom of any PHEV SUV with back row seats and available row Captain S chairs. On top of all that, its powerful 1.6T GDI I-4/ 66.9 kW electric motor can produce 261 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft of torque with a fuel economy of 79 MPGe.
